Vice President of Information Technology
John Mergy joined Do it Best in 2005 as manager of the IT division’s project management office. He served as divisional manager of application development and director of application portfolio management before being appointed vice president of information technology on July 1, 2018. Overall, John has more than 30 years of business experience in IT leadership of all disciplines, strategic planning, and implementing digital solutions across a number of diverse industries.
As vice president of information technology, John is responsible for all IT-related functions at Do it Best. This includes setting the strategic leadership and direction of the co-op’s IT division as well as overseeing development and project management, data center, data and integration services, support, portals, desktop and mobile devices, and networks.
John currently serves on the industrial advisory committee for Purdue University Fort Wayne and is a member of the industrial advisory board at the Eleven Fifty Academy in Carmel, Ind. He’s also previously served on the IT advisory boards for both Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana and ITT Technical Institute. He earned his bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics from Purdue University.
